Greene County Tech's senior boys gave Jonesboro everything it wanted and then some Tuesday in each team's conference opener.
But it wasn't enough.
Jonesboro used a big second half and rallied past Tech 70-64 at the Eagles' arena.
Trailing 40-28 at halftime, the Hurricane began the third quarter on a 9-0 run, cutting the Tech lead to 40-37 on a layup from Desi Sills.
Jonesboro knotted the score at 45-45 on a finger roll from Blayton Williams with 2:20 left in the third. A floater in the lane with seven seconds left in the third gave Jonesboro a 47-45 lead heading into the fourth.
The Hurricane increased its lead to 54-45 on a 3 from JG Stafford with 5:55 left in the fourth.
Tech fought back cutting the Hurricane lead to 64-60 on a layup from Peyton Guiot with 1:02 to play in the game.
But, Jonesboro's Sills scored on a spin and score giving the Hurricane a 66-60 lead with 59 seconds remaining in the game.
Jonesboro got out to an 11-7 lead on a 3 from Blayton Williams in the first quarter.
Tech took the lead at 15-13 on a 3 from Guiot with 1:39 remaining in the quarter and led 21-15 going into the second.
